I really like shopping for clothes of t-shirts and jackets at the Oceanside Amvets on the 101 coast highway. They have a wide selection of thousands of shirts so I find many good choices to choose from. I don't wear hawaiian shirts anymore but I still buy golf shirts with a collar in very bright colors. My brother and sister make fun of me for looking like I dress like I'm from the 1980s or buying clothes in mint condition from the 1980s but I don't care, I wear and buy what I think looks cool and fits how I feel or see myself so I can be comfortable in my own skin! I have found some really nice golf shirts here in many bright neon colors like red, green, and blue. They have mirrors in the store so you can see if it fits. When I try on t-shirts in front of the mirror, I keep my shirt I came in with on still, people tell me if they think I look cool or if it looks like I can rock out that shirt with a hip look! I have caused a commotion with my parents since I started buying my jackets and t-shirts at thrift stores. They are upset that some of the shirts are so bright and flashy and neon that people will think I look like I'm gay for wearing a shirt so brightly colored. I'm straight and like girls, I did not intend to look gay, I just buy what I think that I look real awesome and a cool guy in. I can't tell what shirts would be a gay mans shirt and what shirts would be a straight mans clothing when I'm trying it on at the store! It's not until I get home that I get in trouble with my parents for spending money and for buying shirts that I can't wear in public without people thinking I'm gay. The prices at Amvets run 2 dollars up to 10 dollars the cooler the shirt or jacket the higher the price. Most of my shirts I wear came from this store! For the last 4 years I really like golf shirts or sweaters and jackets with solid bright colors without logos, patterns, or designs.
