I'm going to try to build an old fashioned sailing ship and more castles. I might make a cut away section of an Alien abduction alien probing or human autopsy scene in clay kind of like a 1970's or 1980's action figure toy play set. I thought of it a few months ago but did not have time for it. I want to reference a 1980's spaceships book I found about the designs of the Challenger spaceships to make Toby Mugs of space ships for kids to drink juice or water from! I also plan to build a homage to someone who I look up to and admire from afar about their business and talents in life. I might make art that is a homage to famous surfers or famous designer cat breeders in the So Cal area!
I'm excited about being able to have the studio time to make my own work in prepration for my future campus art gallery show this spring semester and for the san diego comic con art show in July next year in 2012!
I feel really motivated about making art to please others and make friendships and personal connections to people who I like or admire! I'm not worried about selling any of it, so knowing I will give most of it away to people it is meant for takes all the business for profit side of art away from stressing me out or making me frustrated and depressed! If making a work of art can help me be accepted by others who I already like, admire, and look up to as role models I aspire to know better somehow, then that is more important and more valuable than just some money I go through really fast. Making friends or a possible girlfriend somehow is a lot more valuable to me than the price of my clays, clay tools, and costs of access to the ceramics studio. I'm willing to lose a few bucks on art supplies if my social life and experiences with other people becomes much richer!
